Our G1005 chest waders has a traction sole, while our G1008 has a felt sole. The traction sole is ideal for boating and walking to the water. However, it can be slippery on silt covered rocks. In the water, the felt sole is undoubtedly the most efficient. With a good grip on slippery surfaces, these soles will give you all the stability you need for a good fishing trip. However, it wears out faster than the traction sole and is not suitable for long walks. The ideal is to have both products in order to adapt to any eventuality.
